How to Describe Your Symptoms to Your Doctor

If you see an internist or general practitioner about your headaches, you’re guaranteed to annoy them if you say “I have bad headaches and get dizzy a lot.” These two are pretty much the most general and hardest to diagnose from symptoms around.

Even if you do have bad headaches and get dizzy, there are effective ways to describe symptoms to your doctor. Combined with a The National Headache Foundations headache-specific questionnaire you visit will be infinitely more valuable.

Update 6/19/13: I can no longer locate the questionnaire on NHF’s site, but you can see it in this ENT’s patient form.
