Hey there. I'm kind of "headachy" at the moment, so forgive any inconsistancy.
I've been dealing with headaches/migraines for the last 20 years. I'm going to be 40 tomorrow, and trying to accept the fact that these bad boys aren't going anywhere anytime soon. My headaches progressed into migraines about 15+ years ago. They've always occurred during my period, so I'm guaranteed at one or two a month if I'm lucky. My hope is that menopause will do the trick.
I'm currently taking Maxalt, which works, but knocks me out. This of course makes it difficult to work, or do anything for that matter. My doctor wants to put me on a Cymbalta/Trexemet combo, but I'm really nervous about the side affects. If anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear them.
Also, I'd like to know how some of you are dealing with migraines and work and social issues. Sense my headaches have increased over the past year, I've missed a lot of work, and have had to break plans with friends. I get the feeling that they think I'm flaky, and don't really understand how debilitating migraines can be. Fortunately my husband is super supportive, takes care of me and everything else when I'm laid up.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Barbara
