Hi everyone,

Here's my headache story.
Age: 25 Sex: M

I've had a headache for over 5 years now (seriously, 5 years) and it just never goes away. I wake up with a headache and go to sleep with one. Within the past several years, I have a cumulative total of 2 hours being headache free. I'm almost positive I'm not suffering from migraines, as I don't exhibit any of the classic migraine symptoms.

My headaches are focused right in the center of my forehead (sinus). The only trigger I have been able to isolate is sex (sadly). Regardless of my actions, I have constant headaches, however they are severely aggravated by an orgasm. The resulting increased headache intensity usually last for 3 days or so until I return to my "normal" headache.

My headaches do not respond to any OTC medication. For a while I was taking pretty much any OTC med I could get my hands on, but I gave that up in the interest of kidney, liver, and stomach health. I suppose it is odd that I'm concerned about my health when every day I ponder different ways to kill myself. It's a good thing I don't own a gun, because I sincerely doubt I would be typing this message right now. I honestly don't know how much longer I can try to preserve though my constant pain.

Three years ago I saw a couple neurologist and went though the usual battery of tests. One doctor stated that he simply could not help me, while the other put me on an anti-depressant and Imitrex. I didn't like the psychological effect of the anti-depressant so I quit taking it, and the Imitrex actually made my headaches worse.

Last month I decided to once again try to cure, or at least mitigate, my headaches. Seeing as the pain was in my sinus area, I went to an ENT to have him check me out. After prodding around my noggin and evaluating a current sinus CT, he said he could not help me. I have also recently tried acupuncture and chiropractic to no avail.

In 12 days, I'm going to see a Neurologist who works at the university headache center to see if he can help me. I pray that he can help me.
