Hello Everyone I'm glad I found this forum. I too suffer from migraines but thankfully (can you really say thankfully about a migraine?) I only get them once per month. And you guessed it, they come with the monthly cycle, so I have the dreaded "menstrual migraine." I've kept a calendar to ensure that is exactly what they are. I typically get one around day 15 of my cycle when my hormones decide to take a roller coaster ride through my brain. To be specific, I could get a migraine from day 4 to day 15 and then I should be fine until I get my period. This nightmare started about 5 years ago when I was about 38 or 39 years old. I never had menstrual migraines before that. I gave birth to twins when I was 36. Maybe the two episodes are linked in some way. Who knows? I've seen enough doctors and medical professional to write a book. But I could at least join a forum to share my knowledge. You name it, I've tried it: Fioricet, Imitrex, Frova, Relpax, Maxalt, Tylenol, Excedrin, Alleve, DHE, Compazine, Treximet, bioidentical hormones, birth control pills, estrogen patch, Migranol, Migrelief, chinese herbs, black cohosh.....I think I covered it, I think. Nothing I have ever tried as stopped a migraine. Mine typically remain an ice pick in my head for about 20 hours and then let up. I can't work. I can't take care of my girls. All I can do is lie in bed, take an Ambien to sleep, and wait. Nice life huh? So I'm here to share information and to ask questions. Thanks for reading. Letty
