Prevention of Headaches or Migraines Triggered By Sex or Orgasm

Having a headache or migraine triggered by sex or an orgasm is a pretty cruel emotional injustice. Fortunately, preventing a sex-induced headache or migraine is surprisingly simple. And, no, the answer is not to avoid having sex. The most commonly prescribed treatment is indomethacin, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that’s a close relative to ibuprofen, taken an hour before sex.

Those of you who don’t want to go to the doctor may deduce that you can pop a couple Advil and avoid the headache. Please don’t! The headache or migraine may be triggered by benign causes like a tightening of the head and neck muscles or a response to increased blood pressure and heart rate during orgasm. However, it could also be the sign of a brain hemorrhage,  stroke, heart disease, glaucoma, or other disorder. Instead of attempting to treat it yourself, please see a doctor to make sure there’s not a serious background cause.

Several trustworthy online sources say that taking a triptan an hour before sex is an effective treatment for orgasm-induced migraines. I asked a headache specialist about this and was told that this could cause a stroke. The specialist said that because both triptans and orgasms constrict blood vessels, the blood vessels could constrict too much during an orgasm. I’m not sure which source is correct here, but I stay on the side of caution and only take a triptan after an orgasm has triggered a migraine.

  1. i am a 12 year old girl (i know i’m very young) and i was master-baiting and couldn’t finish because i got this terrible pulsing migraine. does anyone know a safe way to get rid of them without going to the doctor? if so please help me it’s sooo painful.

    1. Hey, I have the same issue (im 12 and a male) as soon as I start masterbaiting my head starts to throb in pain and im forced to stop.

Did you ever found out why this was happening and how to stop it? Because im in desperate need to know.

  2. Thanks for all sharing your experience .
I am leading regular life, i never used to have headache unless heavy alcohol party.
Sex was perfect sometimes 3 -4 times a day , masterbute also common.

But 2days back while masterbute i was started feeling left side headache and it got increased till ejection and then at ejection Bullet hit on head.

Believe me i thought its a stroke and funny thing is , in that pain also inspected fingers, hand , leg movements and facial expression,
The headache and nerves pulling feeling is horrible

After 10min it reduced but little headache continued for few hours.

I was in confusion with whom i should consult and found this blog thanks to all.

i started experimenting myself by masterbute with continues breathing it’s somewhat worked headache under control but ejection never happens even 30min jerking, if i hold breath headache raising instant.

Although problem not yet solved but I got confidence it will be over soon
    Will post again

  3. The only thing I can tell you is, I had like three episodes, then never had it again. Hopefully, this will be the case for you.

  4. im 15 and about a week ago when i went to do the do my head felt like it was cracked open i just want to know how to stop it and if antone knows please tell me.

  5. 29 Y/O male. I’ve experienced these incredibly painful headaches since my teens. I am an admitted but undiagnosed sex addict. growing up in an extremely stressful environment forced me to hide, which turned into me self medicating with masturbation. with a habit as bad as mine (up to 20 orgasms daily) I imagine I’ve brought this upon myself. As of late, the thunderclap onsets have happened in some new peculiar ways, not only during sex or masturbation. It’ll happen in my sleep and wake me up crying and vomiting. it’s also happened when I’m rushing to urinate after driving etc. I wouldn’t wish the pain on my worst enemy, I feel like a helpless weakling when it happens. I’m so incredibly sorry for all of you above and I hope you all find solutions. I’ll most likely find mine underneath a bridge someplace because it’s unbearable. good luck to you all.

  6. I have had a constant 24-7 migraine for the past four years due to a TBI from a motor cycle accident. When they are really bad I end up walking like a 90 year old man and my brain is like that of a small child and end up having amnesia. Two weeks ago I tried masterbating for the first time in over a year. (No sex either) I ended up with a headache so bad that I passed out and woke up vomiting. The headache lasted for 6 days before it went back to my normal migraine pain. The Doctors cant fix my migraines or the amnesia episodes I get from the bad ones. Now this new head pain that I felt when I masturbated has caused an increase in my constant migraine pain and has also caused an increase in my sensitivity to light and sound. I’m a 46 year old male and have been married for 27 years. I was taken off some of my meds and my libido came back and now I dont know what to do. I cant have sex or masturbate because of the new headache. Any advice would be helpful.

  7. Hey guys so these replies/comments have been super helpful and I want to leave some helpful tips as well. I am a 21 year old guys. So I would get incredibly painful headaches at the back of my head towards the lower right side. It would last from either for 30 minutes to an hour. They would start when I would begin sexual activity whether it be masturbation or sex. So long story short I did a ton of research online and found out it could be caused by tight muscles in your back (near your shoulder blades) it goes all the way up to your head and it’s essentially a vice on your head if your muscles get tight enough, hence the looking up method while having sex to prevent this from happening it loosens the muscles. To see if this was actually true I went to my best friends mom who is a chiropractor and I told her the whole story (we are very close so it wasn’t weird) and she checked me out and that’s exactly what it was. She did her thing and loosened me up but then recommended that I still go see her regularly and get massages every month. This sucks and it is the worst thing a person can experience. I hope this helps anyone. If you experience this I suggest going to a chiropractor or a masseuse and get your knots worked out. One last thing, I am a very tight and stressed person so that is why I am always so tight and it got to the point where this happened. It has been 2 weeks since I went to see the chiropractor and I haven’t had a headache from sex or masturbation. Goodluck to you all! I’ll keep up with this forum if anyone has questions!

  8. I’ve been getting these on and off for over twenty years. But I can go ten years without them. I get these thunderclap headaches after an orgasm or bench pressing. Drinking is definitely a trigger with mine because I usually get them a day after I’ve had a few drinks, or have been on vacation and drinking more than usual.

  9. A tension headache — usually caused by stress, including tension that is brought on by the act of sex — feels more constrictive and usually goes away within 20 minutes.

  10. My name is Austin and im very young im 12 and a half years old i just had my first ejaculation at june and from last week when i was masturbating i got a small headache and stopped and 2nd time it got worse but u holded it together and ejaculated and omg it was one of the worst pains i’ve ever experienced and i searched it up online and they said eating something like almonds would help i ate about 10-15 before trying ejaculating for third time and it kinda lessened the pain and it worked the next time but the time after it oh jesus i felt like getting smacked in the had i applied some vaporub and lied down for sometime and it went away yesterday i just normally tried to masturbate and suddenly felt continuous stabbing in my head i wanted to cry so bad but i couldn’t bcs my family where in the hall and i slightly felt like vomitting i applied vaporub and took a pain tablet and went to bathroom came back and lied down for a solid 1 hour and still after some time i felt sudden pain my hand and was looking for any solutions i saw Matt’s suggestion but when some people said it didnt work for them i am scared and didnt try it and i am from an indian family i dont knoe about u but if i say this to them i will surely die by them beating pls leave any suggestions looking forward to it.

  11. See now my wife of 52 years of age just gets these nasty migraines right after we have been having sex for the longest time and then I can not finish in her why is that? is their anyway to treat this can she just take an advil before we have sex will that work or not !!!!! PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP !!!!!!!!!

  12. I’m a 39 year old fit male. I cycle everyday and lift weights twice a week.
I’ve had two in my life… the first about 2.5 ears ago, and the headache was right at the point of orgasm. Intense pain at the back of my skull. Like a thunderclap! The headache lasted 14 days… no joke. Throbbing, grinding headache. It kinda diminished towards the end and then went. I took paracetamol and ibuprofen.
The second one was about a year ago. Same situation same intensity. This time for 16 days. Really…. no joke. Constant pounding headache. Dulled a little by co-codamol and ibuprofen.
Didn’t really change the way i had sex. Guess they’re just very intermittent for me. Although both times were when i was standing up.
They prescribed me propanol, beta blockers. But one of the side effects is loss of libido!! I said no thank you.

  13. if all of the scans and test come back normal then it is likely to be a post coital headache. It is due to the change in blood pressure from pre to post sex. Reduce this discrepancy as much as possible. Try prolonged foreplay as a starter, breathe (a lot) and keep the sufferer as prone as possible during orgasm, no sudden changes. Rest for a few moments afterwards. My partner gets these when his blood pressure is high,or he is less less than fit We had to adjust our practices after these started to happen.

  14. I’m 39 year old female. I just started getting these last year. Mine are intermittent lasting everything time I climax for a few weeks and the. Nothing for months. The first time it happened It was like a “thunderclap” headache right at the moment of orgasm. Starting at base of skull/neck and at back of head. I immediately went to ER thinking I was having a stroke or brain bleed. Its how intense the pain was. I was given scans and everything was clear. Subsequent episodes kinda creep in, as the intensity builds the pain builds and I can almost anticipate it happening so I can usually stop. I will have a lasting throbbing but not as intense if I had followed thru and finished. I do notice during times I’m under more stress or sick and taking higher doses of ibuprofen or caffeine they seem to be worse. Not sure if there is a connection. I do not take any medication to prevent these from happening because its intermittent with me but do plan on trying the magnesium and breathing….I’ve been reading this is much less common in women, however the symptoms are basically spot on the same.
Will start new regimen and see what happens. Just started having reoccurrences two days ago.

  15. I to have been experiencing this for 2 weeks now its happened around 5 times explosive pain in the back of my neck and head the pain is so bad its like your head is blowing up and literally brough me to collapsing ,went to hospital and have been to my gp few times and still happening nobody seems to know whats goin on ,have been freaking out big time .I had a ct scan and bloodtests are all ok ,Had nurofen 30 mins before tonight before I tried to orgasm i still felt the pain when approaching climax but afterwards has not been so bad as of yet as i think the nurofen is kicking in.I dont know what else to do ,hey guys as for looking up when climaxing do you mean looking at the ceiling ? It has been a bit more comforting knowing that im not the only one going through this BS.I feel very sorry for all of you who are experiencing this when it is supposed to be a pleasure in life. cheers guys ,btw im 37 male

  16. I experience these brain wrenching headaches within 24 hours after taking an OTC dose of ibuprofen. The headaches range on a 1-10 scale at about a 12 (yes, off the scale), with an aura at 5 or 6 that lasts from one to eight hours. I have learned to avoid this drug, however it’s still a mystery as to why ibuprofen is a trigger. Ironically the better care I take of my health the more sensitivity I’ve experienced with ibuprofen.

  17. Just had my first sex migraine. I’m female 59 have had migraines since I was 12 take Propranolol (beta blocker). Mine was just as you all describe. Excruciating headache at the moment of climax. I was flat on my back. I usually have my head elevated b/c we have a sleep number bed. This was the most unusual intense headache I’ve ever had, thought my head was going to explode!! Started at the top of my head moved down behind my eyes. Intense headache lasted about an hour. Took my Propranolol (I hadn’t taken it yet for the day), drank a cup of coffee then took my Hydrocodone my doctor prescribed for my regular migraines. Still have a dull achey headache 4 hours later. Weirdest thing I’ve ever experienced. Appreciate everyone’s feedback. I was pretty scared, nice to know, I’m not alone.

  18. My ex had this happen just once – turns out he had a brain aneurysm start leaking! So a trip to the ER the first time it happens isn’t a bad idea.

  19. I too get terrible headaches while having sex started about a week ago and the pain is so intense I have to stop.not sure of the cause also been having problems staying hard is this connected? Any suggestions would be greatly apprecated.

  20. My husband and l were having sex and I use a vibrator when we have sex.I reached an orgasm, and I got a very bad migraine. I went to the emergency room had an MRI, ct scan and a spinal tap all normal. I’ve been reading about orgasm headaches, the pain was so intense I don’t want to have sex. That’s a no no because I just got married. I’m going to see a neurologist soon, I started taking magnesium pills but I’m still afraid to have sex. That won’t work I need some suggestions.

  21. I did what Eric just suggested and stiffened my neck and looked up approaching and through orgasm – no shooting pain. I could feel the tension building up but it’s like the angle prevented the pain from materializing. Also breathed heavily through it.

A bit of backstory – I got these off and on quite a bit in my teens. I’m in my late twenties now and just had my first one since then last night. Hopefully this continues to work. Whoever I’m with will just have to deal with me looking like a troll during orgasm.

  22. Looking up and tighting neck durring climax will keep them at bay. Just need to hold that pose for about 10 seconds after completion.

  23. Interestingly I dont get the headaches if:

    1. I have intercourse sex with my wife as opposed to masterbation on my own. Is it the physicality, emotions-brain chemistry?

    2. If I am doing daily yoga along with getting aerobic exercise AND taking Ginkgo Biloba.

    Hope that helps..

  24. Im a bit younger than you all and I’ve had these headaches when I was younger from masturbation but I stopped having them for years and now they’re back and i don’t know why is there any way the headaches will stop like before?

  25. 51 Ye old Female. Don’t have organisms every time but make love with my hubby about 4-5 times a week. Had 1st intense dull headache last night- thought I was having a stroke but when I tested myself it didn’t seem like I had symptoms. I breathed deeply for several minutes and it got better but too about 15 min to subside. Same thing this morning. Both times I was on my back. I’m scared to have an orgasim, and my hubby wants me to go to the doc. I took magnesium (magna calm) in a glass of warm water tonight. I will wait 2-3 days and concentrate on not holding my breath.

  26. I got my first headache 3 days ago and OMG this is the most painful thing I have EVER experienced I am still in alot of pain but it seems to ease up more and more each day. I have been so worried and have been searching for days for an answer I am so glad that I finally came across this and to know that it is some what common.
Thank u all for the advice and I will also be trying the breathing and the magnesium
I wish u all the best because from my experience with this I wouldnt wish it on anyone

  27. Ok that’s great but not everyone plans sex. What the hell is fun about a schedule sex? I want to be able to have sex when the urge hits and not get a migraine, not plan it out so I can take my meds beforehand.

  28. Thanks to Matt and other guys for sharing.

I am going to try the ideas a i am undergoing the same challange,i swear its the lasting boring thing i ever espected in my life since my fiance can’t do without sex.Mine started like a week a go,have tryied asprin but all in vain.I hope it will work because this might cause issues in my relationship as my lady rarely understand.

I promise to come and share aftre trying the above procedures.

    Izell.

  29. I’ve been having these problems to but mine is during masturbating but I don’t know about sex cause I haven’t had any but I get the orgasm headache and then during the course of 4 afterwards i’ll have headaches and pressure for four to five days or more I’ve done this three times but same results and last time I tried breathing and I still got the headache but i’m I went to the hospital and they did a head scan and it was normal but I see a nerolegist here soon sorry for spelling.

    1. Keshia,

Breathing doesn’t stop mine either, though I do find a reduction in the severity of the headaches. Did you ever find a solution that worked for you?

  30. I want to thank Matt for his continued updates over the mobths to share his progress with us. I will try focusing of breathing, and also not “trying too hard” like another guy said.

I am 42 and havestarted getting these about 2 years ago. The episodes can last for about a month, happening every time after sex, then it goes away for several months. I will get them during orgasm buildup and last a day after. They are focussed in the back of the skull neck area, and seep over toward the temples. The first one in the episode is worse, with each one after gradually decreasing in intensity.

A sane man would absatain from sex lfor a few days to let it go away, but I must be a sex addict because I still do it knowing the consequence awaits me.

So, I will try breathing and relaxing more.

I will also add that this current episode is happenibg during a headcold/sinus infection, so that must be contributing…

    Peter

  31. It has been over 9 months for me now and I seem to be fixed. I don’t even bother with te magnesium any more. It seems that breathing was the trick for me though I still avoid climaxing while standing up or kneeling.

I hope you all find your solution.

  32. I’ve had these headaches off and on all my adult life. In my experience this happens most often when you are forcing an orgasm. Or trying to hard. I get intense headaches through my neck up into my temples. Fortunately mine only last 5 to 15 minutes. I believe it’s from tensing up the muscles in your neck and holding your breath. My advice is to late it come natural and breath. Works for me.

  33. I heard it mite be because pressured air that doesnt go to the brain while intercourse bud it makes sense I stopped going quicker haha theres gotta be Wtf we paying Docs for.

  34. I have had this problem every since I can remember. About one hour after ejaculating I will start having a headache, but it not just a normal headache. Its difficult to think, feels like my IQ has dropped 30 points, difficult to remember things, difficult to talk as clearly as I usually do. After 2 nights sleep the problem starts clearing up and gets better as time elapses. I have gone to a number of neurologists and none of them have been able to identify the issue.

Any ideas would be much appreciated

  35. I started drinking about a liter of magnesium filled carbonated water aday, started going out more and streching. It helped and I’m not feeling any pain what so ever.

  36. Matt
It has been nearly 4 months since I tried breathing through the orgasm and taking magnesium and that is working for me.

  37. Im 14 wich means puberty is at its hardest, I feel strong neck and temple pain when ever i masturbate. I dont want to go see a doctor cause its imberrasing to even think like that. If there is any home friendly solution to this problem i would be gratefull.

  38. I’ve recently started to get these headaches too. Exactly how people have described them. First was during sex, second was in a fitness class, within minutes of warm up. I ended up going to A&E. I thought I was going to die. Scans and MRI done. Showing nothing sinister, Thankfully. The doctors put me on preventative meds. A type of beta blocker. So far no change however it’s only been a week.
I suffer with migraine but nothing ever like this. I went to acupuncture session yesterday, not sure if it helped. But I will try anything.
Has anyone else tried the magnesium? I’ll try that. I suppose it can’t do any harm. Any other tips would greatly be appreciated.

  39. I am a 34 yr old female worried for my 44yr old fiance who has experienced this “orgasm related orgasm” both this morning and tonight. We have been together 3 1/2 yrs. & experience orgasm daily. He says this has NEVER happened to him before. He was diagnosed with diabetes about 1 yr & 1/2 ago. He has lost weight through diet & exercise and hardly has any problems with his sleep apnea or diabetes more recently. Unfortunately he does have high blood pressure & doesn’t take his BP pill everyday & the past week has not used his Cpap machine because we moved into our new home & we both forgot to buy distilled water (required for machine) then he found he needs new tubing…. I think he may hold his breath during orgasm!! Thanks for posting here. I will schedule him an appointment to have this checked out. I am worried that it could be an aneurysm or stroke. He is sleeping like a baby now. I’ll check back here soon to see what all updates you all have and what the Dr. says/prescribes. BTW my fiance said his headache began at the temples as a stabbing pain and shot backward towards the back of his head. He said he was more tense this morning but not tonight. Unintentionally, both times this headache occured he was on his back during orgasm…which makes me think about blood flow….hmm. Good luck everyone!

  40. I seem to get migrain headaches within a few hours of sex, actually way more after masterbation than sex with my wife…figure that one out all you want to be psyco-therapists.

I do like Matt’s idea in the previous post about breathing through the orgasim. I think this may be the real physiological reason I am more likely to get a headache from masterbation than sex in that I tend to hold my breath for intensity when climaxing via masterbation rather than breath through it when with my wife. Time to try out this theory as well as the magnesium Matt suggested.

Happy and pain free O everybody,

    E

  41. I want to share my experience with you all despite how delicate the subject is to some.

I had my first headache after sex with my wife in the shower. Approaching orgasm my legs shook violently and then my head exploded. 10 out of 10 pain. Again the next time but this time lying on my back. Third time masterbating to see if that was different. Each time the headache lasted longer and the last time 24 hours. Ipeprofin didn’t dona thing.

I went to the doctor and ended up in ER getting scans and a lumber puncture to test for something more serious. All good.

One of the male nurses asked me if I held my breath during orgasm. I didn’t know. I had another go with my wife and breathed open mouth during climax. No headache. I have also been taking magnesium which I read was a contributor.

One month later and no headaches

Please try breathing and magnesium. Sex is one if life’s free pleasures. I hope you all find a solution.

    Matt

    1. That’s exactly it Matt I hold my breathe when I close to orgasm and the pain is truly unbearable I also was rushed to a&e the first time had lumber punch and brain scan all clear…. gonna try not holding my breath however that’s a complete style change for me. Please let me know how you getting on as this only started for me last Sunday and I suffered 5 days with a migraine I’m now on chlonidine which seems to help x candyclow@Hotmail.Co. uk

      1. If it is sexual headache, doctor will tell u to do brain CT scan and if every thing is okay with scan, doctor will give you Indometacin tablet to take it before activity. You will get well immediately with just 1 tablet. When that become okay, u dun sex for 3 to 4 days. You wont need to rely on medicine anymore next time when you try.CT scan for your brain is a must because doctor can prescribe medicine only if your internal brain is okay and nothing ruptured. This the only solution cured me.

  42. It’s very off-putting feeling excruciating pain when you’re suppose to be feeling good. My explosive migraine sneaks up as I am preorgasm, and I would compare the final orgasm headache (but mostly migraine) as having my head bashed open. The migraine isn’t in my neck or back of my head or even all over, it’s at my right temple/right side of forehead, every.. single.. time.. and that scares me. All I can do is grab my head and cry. My neck does feel a tad stiff after the pulsing from the orgasm dies down, but that is bearable. The pain has lasted at most, about 12 hours, with the first 1 or 2 hrs being excruciating, and the rest 10 or 11 hrs a dullness all over my head. I quit smoking three months ago and my problems started about a month ago. Could be related?

  43. There are also other things which may be causing this explosion like certain prescription drugs. (blood pressure medicine, pain pills of any kind with an opiate derivate) Also I have them worse when I am in my head instead of allowing the feelings to just be in my body. Hope this helps!

  44. I’ve been getting these headaches just before orgasm which feel like I’ve been bashed over the head. It starts in my neck and works up to feel like a vice crushing my forehead to both sides and behind the eyes and jaw. Sometimes I can have sex and it doesn’t happen but I can’t pinpoint what’s different when it does. This has only been happening for about 8 months but it makes me nervous, as well as making my very patient partner feeling worried. I went to the GP who said it was probably nothing to worry about and will likely pass, but it’s still pretty frustrating and unfair. Can anyone recommend anything to stop it or reduce the risk? Why does it happen?!

  45. Alright my girlfriend and I were getting to do intimacy but she got a huge migraine during an orgasm and well if you guessed it could do anything anymore we tried four days before and she the same thing but it wasn’t as big before now she doesn’t want know I’m asking here for advice but I am concerned. Any ideas or do I got to make her see a doctor. Please reply.

    1. Yu knw Oscar as yu described it its exactly like dat and it last abt 15mins then it slowly fades away also started a mnth ago, usually ive been enjoyin sex till last mnth i cant even musturbate myself anymore cos im scared de pain z veri exruciating unberable i tell yu pls come tell us what de doctor said abt yo headache

  46. The first headache I got was the other day after an orgasm. No sooner than the last drop squeezed out, my head felt like it was going to EXPLODE. It started in the middle of my neck and ran up the back of my scalp and down behind my eyes. It felt like someone was pulling the cords on the back of my eyes. I broke out into a cold/clammy sweat, nausea set in, dizziness and I just balled up in the fetal position. It literally felt like someone bashed the back of my skull in with a baseball bat. The severity eased up after about 10 minutes but it felt like a stiff neck limiting my neck movement. I’ve had a headache off/on for 4 days now since this happened. I am scheduled for an MRI Monday so hopefully that will either show something or I’m gonna keep pestering doctors until I get answers. The headaches just started but I’ve had other issues prior to this for the last year. My heart checks good but it races at times. My BP elevates to the point of almost passing out. Cold sweats randomly. I can’t stand the heat anymore like I used to. Heat of any type makes me nauseated. I want effing answers. I’m 36 and have never had health issues until I turned 35 and then I feel like I just fell apart. I’m tired of doctors blowing me off like I don’t have anything wrong with me and its all in my head.

  47. I have just started,( about a month ago)having headaches after I have an orgasism… the last time it lasted over 24 hours I wanted to die. .. but I also have migraines most of the time.. but have never gotten them after an orgasism.. I asked my husband if it was normal or if he thought anything was wrong he said so I decided to google it and I’m guessing I’ll be making a doctor appointment to be on the safe side. ..

  48. I’ve never heard of this before!

Orgasms occasionally CURE and usually at least alleviate my chronic migraines (because of the increase in serotonin levels, coupled with the flow of blood away from the brain to other areas, I believe).

The only problem is that once a killer migraine is well under way, sex is usually one of the last things on my mind, even for medicinal purposes:)

  49. Well- the AMA has failed me before.

    And by “Failed” I mean-
gave me a prescription where there was a perfectly suitable alternative.

    BUT- Check it out-

Today is the first day in about three weeks I’ve been able to masturbate without getting a horrible migraine.

I know some people say they had them for years and years– so perhaps I just got off lucky, but–

All I did differently was lay off my high-cholesterol foods– (eggs, in my case)
Eat extra fiber- oats and fruits-

And probably most importantly, I ate stupid amounts of cilantro.

I’m talking a fistful of short (perhaps 5″) sprouts– cutting the leaves off to cook with whatever food (tonight, it was chicken with garlic, rosemary, and lime! Lime and cilantro are great together- it levels out that bitter taste)

And once I got all the leaves off the stems–
    I ate the stems.

Seriously, just wadded them up, and ate them.
Its not a good taste, but- hell. I heard so many good things about the detox-powers of cilantro–

Today is the third day of that- and no migraines, today.

I’ll report back in a week or so–
Just thought I would share the tip so someone else could try their luck with it.

    1. Hi James,
I am also suffering severe headache when reached to climax when doing sex or masturbation. What i dsliscovered is lying flat can reach to climax though. It started from last week. I am not sure how long it will last but I will try Cilantro from tmr. I went to doctor today snd they gave me pain killers and want me to stop the activity for 2 weeks and see the results.Did you manage to permanently stop after eating Cilantro.

    2. Hi James,
I am also suffering severe headache when reached to climax when doing sex or masturbation. What i discovered is lying flat can reduce pain and reach to climax though. It started from last week. I am not sure how long it will last but I will try Cilantro from tmr. I went to doctor today and doctor gave me pain killers and want me to stop the activity for 2 weeks and see the results.Did you manage to permanently stop headache after eating Cilantro?

  50. This is something of an alarming thing–

The solution to the problem is to take pain medication–

What else do we know about the causes of this?

None of the causes the Mayo clinic lists sound like they could apply to me–
    I’m 22!
I have a good diet, good exercise routine…
Yet when I have an orgasm- the pain immediately blasts through my head and stays for 24 hours!
24 hours of excruciating pain from an orgasm!
I read about one guy that said it had been going on with him for three years. I cant do that.

I suppose that if Pheochromocytoma can be caused by drinking excessive amounts of coffee/caffeine– that may be my problem.
Or if five eggs a day can spike cholesterol levels to the point of causing high blood pressure—

But still, neither of those explanations make sense!!

I’ve greatly reduced the amount of coffee I drink- and I’ve switched to herbal tea!
And I’ve been eating four eggs a day off & on for most of the past four years! Surely five eggs a day, religiously the past 3 months couldn’t have impacted my cholesterol levels like that, huh?

I don’t want to deal with this-
I want to be able to have sex on impulse!

I’m going to read up on Pheochromocytoma some more-

But what I basically want to know-
is what are the odds that I got into this condition with my diet?

Eggs are the most unhealthy thing I eat.
Most everything else I eat is raw.

LOL if I weren’t an atheist, I would swear it has to be the fact that the herbal tea I drink is Tulsi– which is considered a “holy tea”– made from leaves named after Hindu gods.

The holy tea is trying to purge me of my carnal pleasures!

    XD

No, but seriously, any ideas at all would be great.

    1. James,

Perhaps you have migraine that’s only triggered by sex? Seeing your doctor is really the only way to what’s causing the headaches. I wish you the best of luck in finding the cause.

  51. Oh my, I find that coaching my guy to ‘do it right’ is more migraine inducing than the orgasm! Lol.
I also hate when trying new things in the bed room doesn’t work out..as in if you’re really excited to try this new thing then its not that great. It makes me bitter. Thinking wow, I live in this pain I never know when I’m going to hurt then I try to have this pleasure and my body won’t even let me feel good.
but I try not to think like that too much.
