Scented Police Officers
By Kerrie | March 16, 2007

Lemon- and rose-scented uniforms are on order for police officers in Ahmadabad, a city in western India. The goal is to make officers “sweet smelling and sweat free” despite the vicious heat the city has half the year.
What a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad idea. I hope doesn’t spread to the US.

Compared to smelling the usual mixed perfume of human feces, baked urine, rank sweat, various stressed-animal-in-market smells, rotting garbage and boiling hot weather that people deal with on a daily basis in many cities of the developing world I would pick the lemon and rose scented cops any day of the week!

Good point. I was only thinking in terms of headache triggers and rose is a HUGE one for me.

Why cops? Why not grocery clerks, grade-school teachers, or taxi drivers???
